Mapae is operated by Micha Roessler LLC, a Wyoming limited liability
company, USA. Contact: mapae@mapinsy.com.

By using Mapae you agree to what is below. If you do not, please do not use it.
Mapae makes a short animated map film from places you enter or from your photos. Two films are free, with a small mapae mark and our end card, and need no sign-up. After that you can buy This Trip, a 14-day pass ($4.99, one payment, never renews), or Every Trip, unlimited films for a year ($24, renews yearly until you cancel). Every Trip members get 15% off printed books and posters. A trip pass bought within the last 7 days is credited once toward Every Trip. Paid films have no mark, the end card is optional, and every look and GPX/KML route import are included. Monthly plans bought before October 2026 continue until cancelled. Prices are in US dollars, shown before you pay, and are the final price you pay.
Films you make with a paid plan are yours to use anywhere — including monetised YouTube, TikTok and Instagram content, client work and ads. Keep the map credit in the film (“© OpenStreetMap contributors · © OpenMapTiles”), which our export adds by itself. A credit for Mapae is welcome but never required. Free films carry the mapae mark and are for personal sharing.
Mapae starts the moment you pay — the payment screen says so before you pay.
If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you can withdraw from a purchase within 14 days of buying it, without giving a reason. An email to mapae@mapinsy.com is enough, for example: “I withdraw from my Mapae purchase of [date], made with [email].” We refund the full amount, the way you paid, within 14 days of hearing from you. The access it gave then ends, and a monthly or yearly plan is cancelled so nothing more is charged.
Wherever you live, and without giving a reason: within 14 days of buying, you can refund your purchase yourself in one tap — in Mapae, tap “?” → “Get your money back” — or email us. We refund the full amount the way you paid; banks usually show it within 5–10 days. The access then ends at once (for a partner you shared it with too), and a monthly or yearly plan is cancelled first, so it never renews.
Your trips and the films you make are yours. We claim no rights over them. They are made in your browser and are not uploaded to us. You are responsible for what you put in them and for where you post them.
Maps are built from OpenStreetMap and related open data. Films carry the credit “© OpenStreetMap contributors · © OpenMapTiles · OpenFreeMap” — please leave it in place when you post a film. Full details on the licences page.
Please do not try to break the service, get around the free-film limit, resell access, or use Mapae to make anything unlawful. We may end access that does.
Mapae is provided as it is. We work hard to keep it up and correct, but we do not guarantee it will always be available, or that a route or place is accurate. It is not for navigation. Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or anything else that cannot be limited by law; otherwise our liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
You can stop at any time and delete your account in the app (“?” → Delete my account). Deleting it also stops a monthly or yearly plan from renewing; you keep it until the end of the period you paid for. We may end or change the service with reasonable notice; if we end a plan you have paid for, we refund the unused part.
These terms are governed by the law of the State of Wyoming, USA. If you are a consumer, this does not remove the protection of the mandatory law of the country you live in, and you may bring proceedings there. The EU also offers an online dispute resolution platform.
